He had to know for himself if the candidates were alright and so it was only fitting that he meet with them all in the Senate Rotund. It would not have been out of the question to have the one or two who were opposite political factions decline his request to come in person, but he could at least expect a conference call with them.
While he was in the secured bunker office, the work at the official office had piled up. Phar K'in had quite a bit of work ahead of him as he multitasked and put out the calls. In running through the list of candidates, there was one latecommer to the race with a rather strong constituency, a Senator from Ryloth. He tracked down the right contact information as he went about writng all the other correspodences for the day. Her name was Al'Verde. He'd have to speak with her as he went about catching up.
He sighed to himself, "A Chancellor's work is never done..."
Fingers flying over the kewyboard, he entered in the right commandline and frequency to reach the Senator's office. A few seconds later, there was a figure on the other end of the line, it looked to be another Twi'lek. "Ah, Chancellor, this is an unexpected pleasure. What can I do for you Sir?"
Wearing a politician's smile, the Chancellor nodded and asked, "Is the Senator available at the Coruscant office, or has she gone to her office on Ryloth? I am trying to touch base with the candidates for the election after the incident. I wanted to see if everyone made it out safely and to offer an apology."
The Twi'lek, obviously an intern nodded and said, "Well Sir, I'll see if I can't page her, she should be in the office here on Coruscant. She should call back shortly if I can't get her to take the call here."
That drew a satisfied nod. "Good, I'll be in my office all day and it won't be too difficult to reach me."
That drew a nod from the young Twi'lek. "Thank you for calling Sir, I'm sure she'll appreciate the gesture and she'll get back to you as soon as possible. I read here on a text message that she's in a meeting with the senior campaign staff, so she'll have to call you back...I'm glad to see that you came out of the assisniation intact sir."
"Thank you, thank you very much and I'll be looking forward to her call."
"Indeed, and I've already let her know that you've called and regarding what, so it should be within the hour at the latest, Chancellor."
"Very good, I'll be looking forward to it."
The line went dead at the other end, and all the while, he hadn't missed a beat as he raced through a stack of coorespondences that had built up while he had been in the bunker. A quick look around revealed that the number of guards around him had doubled since the assasination attempt and he knew that there were many out there far from the walls of the Senate Rotund who did want him dead.
Time flew by while he banged away at the correspondences. Looking them over, he realized that waxing apologetic was the theme for the day. It would simply hae to be until the indident was completely past him. There were many calls that morning and he simply took them all, waiting to hear from the Senator Al'Verde.
