The small attack fleets moved more nimbly than a larger fleet would have. The commanders of the two fleets seemed to expand on the logic of thier Commander in Chief. Alpha Fleet was the first to break out of Hyperspace and begin the attack on Tatooine. If the primary city of Mos Isley fell, then there was little else that would have needed to be taken.
The skies of Tatooine were streaked with angry red flashes that turned the desert sand to glass instantaneously. With that, the people of Mos Isley knew from the markings of some of the ships that appeared in the sky...the Red Hand wasn't dormant. It had sprung a surprise attack. The use of force was nearly expert as civilian and criminal alike were cowed by the display of military strength.
Before the lines of communication had been cut along with the power, there was a desperate transmission sent to the Republic.
Anyone on the Republic end of the automated broadcast would have seen the figure of a woman looking over her shoulder in a pale blue-white hologram as she said, "This is Mos Isley, we have come under attack by the Red hand. I repeat, we have come under attack by the Red Hand. We need your help ASAP. Please, send help, you're our only hope."
For a stagnant force, they did fight logically. Apparently it didn't take long for some of the rust to come off. With the infrastructure gone, the planet would now be completely dependednt upon the mercies of thier attacker...the logic of absolute domination screaming of the Sith.
