He sat in his office looking over the tactical situation of the fleets. They were going to need more ships, weapons and men before too long, if they were to take the galaxy and keep it. Never pretending to understand the ways of the Force himself, he knew it was difficult to keep the effective commander-in-chief briefed while she was out doing heaven only knew what a Dark Lord did. Admiral Javus didn't need to guess that she was out there luring the unsuspecting partner into doing her bidding. Last he knew, she was on Mygeeto at the moment. He shook his head at the thought of what she could have been doing there. If it meant manpower and more resources, he'd have cared less.
Taking a break from reading over fleet expenses and operational progress reports, he got up and made way for the bridge. The sight of black, star-filled space was always good for thinking. He walked along the decks of the flagship, the Revenge, in long, confident strides. A voice called out, "Admiral on deck, all hands sa-lute!"
There were men standing immediately to attention and giving a salute of a balled fist across the chest. Returning it, he said simply, "At ease. Captain, the ship is still yours." His steel gray eyes merely peered out into that darkness and he left his mind to wonder freely about. He let the issues of managing the fleet and the next tactical move all sift through in whatever order they would come. There was a voice that interrupted the many trains of thought. "Admiral sir, there is an incomming tranmission directed at Command."
"From where?"
"Sir Corellia, sir."
A brow went up. "Ah yes, that little land grab. Very good, now patch it through."
"Sir yes sir."
There was a burst of static, telling on the encryption of thier com traffic. A cold, calm voice said simply, "Inform Command, opposition sighted in area. Casualties as expected, over and out." His eyes narrowed, "Where's the video on this?"
"Sir, the message was recorded and audio-only. We recieved it as a burst transmission, sir."
He nodded, knowing that was standard procedure for the Assassins, especially when one didn't think he was going to make it back. Thier little land grab looked to be the spark igniting a political powder keg. Not that he worried so over politics, save where they concerned his job. Shaking his head slightly, Javus knew this was news that even his superior didn't want to hear. He knew all too well from the last Dark Lord that there was a price to be paid for spreading bad news, especially where maneuvers were concerned. "Alright, get a copy of it to my desk, I'm going to have to inform Ultra One of the turn of events." He muttered, "and I suspect she's not going to like the sound of it when word does get to her."
The man standing next to him and to attention was left figthing the urge to bite his lip at the remark. "Sir yes sir." He snapped off another crisply-executed salute before walking off to get that recording.
Back in his office, he sat carefully wording a very brief text message. He knew that if this one was anything like the man she'd replaced, then she'was one to explode as well. It was a chance he didn't want to take. Half an hour leter, he would find out...

Somewhere in a boardroom on Mygeeto, a datapad rigged to pick up the Holonet bleeled softly. A hauntingly beautiful figure took a look and popping up on a screen was a message that read, "PROBLEMS WITH RECENT ACQUISITION, TROUBLE AHEAD... DO NOT INVEST IN CORELLIA AT THIS TIME. PLEASE PAGE FOR MORE DETAILS.--AJ." She glanced it over while discussing trade with the Intergalactic Banking Guild. There wasn't even the slightest hint that anything was amiss as she practically talked and decived her way into control of the guild.
For Admiral Javus, it was a matter that would have to wait for another time before she could page him for an explanation. He had hours to hope she was the more rational and clever sort after all.
