It was as simple as getting a business contract. Hours and hours of plotting and planing were done to wait out the throbbibg, stabbing pain still wrapping around her head like a crown of thorns. A pair of golden wolf-like eyes glittered darkly in the blackened room, lit only by the screen of a datapad. Her fingers were fast at work presing in the right frequency.
Darth Kaa'li was every bit the image of a Dark Lord as she sat at work like a vulture waiting for a fading creature to collapse. There was a whole diferent way to expand without so much as making a ripple. They were effectively the holding firm managing the business side of the Verpine and thier contracts. That effectively made them a business and a business was just the sort of way to expand her empire woithout alerting suspiscion.
A diabolical smile played on her freshly-painted face. It hid the death-like pallor and the blue lips that had appeared when the storms raged in the Force. She needed only a way to get in. With the Intergalactic Banking Clan, all she needed was a business proposal...and that was what kept her busy for the moment. Her powerful yellow eyes glittered as she looked it all over one final time before she'd have to send it out on an encrypted frequency, one of the standard business frequencies. She was about to paint the picture of a very lucrative business venture. Once the door was open, it was simply a matter of slipping in and then taking over in full. It almost assuredly meant she'd eventually have to pay Mygeeto a visit on her path to conquest.
That diabolical smile remained as she whispered, "See Master, one day you're going to appear out of the mists to a galaxy reclaimed as we should have had it all this time. You have none to thank but yourself for setting the table. And now for the next pahse."
She was ready, and with nothing more than a quick change of an outer layer, she went from Dark Lord of the Sith to the Chief Executive Officer of a false holding corporation. She sent the business proposal and then shortly after, she stood ready to record a message for them, one that would arrive in time.
Her voice was the same soft whisper as before. It was the same velvet voice herad on Corellia, it was the same for Genosia and Alderaan. The hir and face were different of course. It was not the same moon-white face as before. No, this time it was pain meant to make her look more like one of the living.
"Greetings, this is Durgha Anvar, CEO of Roche Holding Inorporated. I have word of a business venture you may find interesting. As per your outlined procedure on the Holonet, I am leaving you this message in conjunction with the business proposal that we have already sent to you on the standard business frequencies. Please feel free to give me a call at this frequency at your soonest convenience. Thank you."
There was that look of waiting. The doors to her chamber opened and a pair of low growls echoed through the room. "My Lord, we have recieved word that the Jedi are landing on Corellia."
A brow went up as she turned from the holocom unit. Breath pluming in the semi-darkness, she tapped into the Force just enough to let her more-than-mortal senses confirm it. Opening her eyes, she answered, "I assume we have this report from one of ours that survived?"
"Yes my Lord. We sent an Assassin to make sure the men sent to do the initial attack carried out thier mission."
She nodded. It made sense, even if it was unnecessary. She had toyed with thier loyalties well enough to where they had thrown themselves in the line of fire. "I see. Then that assassin knows what he must do. See to it his orders ar made clear."
"Yes my Lord."The second figure bowed low and disappeared behind the doors as they slid closed. Left alone in her office, she was free to wiat, to plan, and to further scheme. The next step was to get in touch with Alderaan and pressure them where she could. She would take care of Corellia in time. For the moment, it looked as if the Sith Empire were on the cusp of rising again.
"You have a long way to go before you get that far, young one."
Her breath plumed a solid white in the darkness. "Who's there now?"
There was no answer, only a pair of eyes staring back through a helment bearing massive horn-like protrusions. She could tell already by the glow this figure gave off in the Force that this was the ghost of a past Dark Lord. Images of a tomb came to her, and there were images of a soul still trying any way he could to claw free of it. Her yellow eyes flew open and hardened at once. Her voice was a venemous whisper, "Forget it. I know what you're thinking and forget it. You had your chance and like others before you, you failed. Try what you intend and you will lead to ruin again."
"And you are any closer. What do you think you are child, do you think yourself the Sith'ari?"
Her voice was stalwart, and her stance was solid as she rose to her feet to square off with the specter, "I may be the youngest Dark Lord the order has known, but never, never did I lay claim to that title. Only a fool would lay claim to it. I will deny that title for myself unless deemed so by posterity. Now, if you're so depserate to get out of that retched little fixer-upper you call a tomb, go possess someone's apprentice and leave me be."
Just then, she heard a beeping sound. It was the sound of the incomming message on the holocom unit. A dark smile played on her face before it melted into a practiced, polished politician's smile. She already knew who it was on the other end before she opened the channel. "Miss Anvar, we have looked over your proposal and you are right, this does look like a promissing business proposal. We would actually like to speak with you in greater depth about it, perhaps in person on Mygeeto."
She looked every bit like a business executive and she knew this was the perfect opportunity to seize major assets. Little did the banking clan realize it was about to be the victim of a hostile takeover. Her head tilted and her voice softly answered in a velvet tone, "Absolutely. What time did you have in mind? I can be there in three days if I leave now."
"Excellent, we will be looking forward to you on your arrival."
She nodded still wearing that politician's smile. "Excellent, I will be arriving with some of my assocaites if this isn't a problem."
"Not at all, we will be more than happy to accomodate them as well."
"This is very kind of you, we will be seeing you shortly." With that she killed a com link and she shifted as neatly back into her role as Dark Lord. The politician's smile grew into a real and very dark smile of satisfaction. For every step the Jedi made, she was sure to remain at least ten ahead of thier grandmaster. She was out for the infrastructure of the galaxy and at the rate she was going, she wuld have it. By the time the ship took off, she was on her way with more than just a counter-offer...she came with associates in her trade that were ready to take over on Mygeeto and Munilinst.
