Character Information
Name: Kayura (no known last name)
Age: 23-ish
Race: Human
Class: Sith
Faction: Sith Order
Hight: 5'6"
Weight: 125-130 pounds
Physical Description: She's 5'6" and there is nothing physically remarkable about her, except that perhaps her features, if on Earth could be taken for Asian. If anything, she strives to blend in. Among other Sith, she'll be seen wearing the same kind of cloak. Among normal people, she'll more than likely be wearing a civilian flight suit and a black trench coat over it to cover her weapons. However, there is something in her black eyes, a look to them that suggests that she is dangerous and knows more than a 23 year-old has a god-given right to know. It's not an arrogant gaze, it's cold and keenly intelligent.
Personallity: Her life is centered around the temple on Korriban as she was raised there, brought in as a foundling, most likely kidnapped, but told she was abandoned. Her personality is multi-layered in that outwardly she seems friendly. In truth, she's learning from anyone and anything. She has an insidious side to her in that she will learn from those around her and eventually kill them. She is very analytical making her a skilled linguist and a low-level hacker as well as a good strategist and fighter. On a deeper level, she is cold , masking her fear, anger and hate to the point of looking as if it doesn't exist...don't be fooled, she's no Jedi! Overall, she is almost the Sith version of a Samurai. But no one would suspect her since she takes to heart the principles of stealth and silence. There is one major quirk in that she does not allow anyone to touch her. Any attempts to do so result in, at the mildest, a Force push. Her inherent talent is that she can hear, see and speak to the dead, making her a keen student even of those who had come before. To her, the dead appear as solidly as the living.
Strengths: She has the ability to hear, see and speak to the Sith dead...fast learner...and a clever fighter/strategist.
Weaknesses: The Sith dead and other past Dark Side users can possess her and it nearly kills her every time they try it...zones out a bit when they speak to her and that can leave her very vulnerable to attack.
Fears: She frears being used and abaondoned. If anything, she fears being left for dead, which makes sense given what she's been told of her past. Perhaps this makes her skeptical of other sith, but then again, treachery is a standard among the Sith. She hides her fear by putting on the airs of being friendly and may even hide it behind humor, but it's there. She also fears what the dead will do to her. They envy the living and will try anything to get back among the living, forgetting what it was to live: eating, sleeping, and even breathing are things they have forgotten. When they possess her, it is why it nearly kills her, they have to relearn or lose thier rare foothold back among the living.
Dreams: She dreams of leraning to fully control her talent, as rare as it is. Like all Sith, her dreams are of power, perhaps glory. Relentless as she can be, she'll seek out the most efficient way to get them. As she is a Warrior now instead of a mere apprentice, her dreams lead her to taking on the challenge of becoming a true Darth, a Sith Lord. Perhaps somewhere in her is that desire like so many before her for a shot at the title of Dark Lord. More sinister still, perhaps the Dark Side could twist her enough to pusue the rebuilding of the long-lost Sith Empire.
Equipment: Wields a scimitar-shaped Sith sword bearing a line of runes reading "I belong to the Gateway to Those Who Came Before" etched into the blade. She has also crafted what look like Japanese-style gauntlets with retracting blades that are no longer than the back of her hands.
Ships: None...yet *evil grin*
Droids: None...yet
Background: She was brought in as a foundling, still in diapers. Whether or not she is in fact an orphan is inconsequential. She was raised a Sith and sees herself as nothing else. In spite of her Asian-like and obviously human features, she doesn't believe that she is.
As far as she knows, she was abandoned by her parents for thier fear of her innate ability to levitate small objects. As the story she's been told goes: she was eventually left for dead in a public space port, however, she was left for anyone to grab. Among the many who could an would, she was found by a Sith and brought to thier stronghold on Korriban. It was clear even then that she possessed a rare talent, but it wouldn't manifest until she was old enough to really talk about it. As a child, she had a lot of "imaginary' friends, people who seemed capable of taking to her alone. After a certain age, she kept silent about it thinking it was her youthful and overactive imagination. However, in her years of training and years of teaching herself, it lingered. No one else could see these people and yet to her they looked to be as real as she. It seemed that for her ability to speak with the dead, she had the ability to learn from them. As she was so keen to learn from the living, learning from the dead has served her well. She's a warrior to show for it.
RP example: It was a long day and none too likely to get any shorter. Having some time to herself, she was glued to the holographic screen diplaying the news from the Holonet. It may have appeared to be something as casual as reading the news, but it was in truth, far more sinister. Her black eyes were fixed on the words as they seemed to float in the air with images drifting close to them. The media, whether they realized it or not, proved to be the poor man's Bothan SpyNet.
There was a second computer going, running in mainframe fashion. This one wasn't to be found on a desk, nor standing in any Holonet server array. No, this one was seated neatly between her ears as she sat there reading. Plans formed and strategies brewed. Perhaps the Sith Empire could be rebuilt though long forgotten and lost with time. Whatever race her appearance said she was, she only saw herself as one thing: a Sith and nothing else. Her mind operated on the operating systems of Stealth and Silence, and that goverend all courses of strategy. A single question formed in her mind as she now looked over a galactic map: Could it all be taken back?
Sensing a presence, her black eyes, abyssal in thier gaze, swept the room to find that there were others, mostly translucent. They seemed to be watching, many plotting. Her gaze became a pair of brutal black slits as she scanned them again. If she was a medium, she had to be one of the few, if not the only one among the living. This put her in that precarious place of being the one that could acknowledge the dead freely and learn from them, but such was a double-edged sword: it put her in the position of being possessed if one so chose to do so. Every day was a battle to keep them on the death side of the veil that segregated them from the living. Today looked to be yet another battle of the sort, making her all the stronger for the conflict. Strangely enough, the living seemed to be a cake-walk by comparison: they still had to eat, sleep and do all the other things that the living needed. The dead, didn't: they had often forgotten and to them time had no meaning.
She sighed, her breath pluming in the seemingly permanent chill that had descended around her. Right now, she almost wanted to be distracted by one of the living. However, it seemed at the moment, there was no such luck. Voices whispered, some snickered, others laughed darkly.
"Is she the only one who can see us?"
Still others were more than simply curious, these had designs. "Hmm, a meduim, eh..."
Her black eyes narrowed as she hissed in a velvet half-whisper, "Forget it, you have had designs on me since i was first able to see you. When I was a mere whelp in a diaper, you had your chance."
There werre phantom laughs, some far darker than others. A cold, acidic voice from among the dead hissed back, "As if you, Foundling, are so much stronger now? Don't delude yourself, you're no Master."Eyes still narrowed, a dark, dark smile played on her face. "Really now? I suppose the dead forget one critical flaw: in order to channel the Force, you first need a body. Having lost yours to time, that one good apprentice, and decomposition, you are doomed to simply be and without power of your own. If any of you think you'll have designs on me, give up now. I will subvert you. Try, and i will disband you."
There was a grim chorus of phantom laughs. "In the end, we will see which of us will prove you wrong...whelp."
