A long time ago in a Galaxy far, far away…
The Year is 93 ABY. The Galaxy has been in a state of political unrest for many years. Corellia has seceded from the Galactic Alliance, and as it stands, the Alliance as a whole is on the brink of falling to pieces. Chief of State Ran Wilka, a human from the shipping world Kuat, has lost the confidence of many and is steadily losing the rest. It has been over a decade since the last major crisis. With the Yuuzhan Vong all but forgotten, and the ‘Swarm War’ a distant memory, the need to stand united is no longer such an attractive proposition. .
Without war thinning the ranks of the Jedi Order, the last several decades have seen a huge influx of Jedi hopefuls. The years after the reign of Skywalker saw a new Jedi Council put into place, and also the rebirth of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. Recently, though, the sudden death of three Council members has ignited a troubling chain of events resulting in many Jedi breaking away from the traditional Order, and forming their own cliques in different systems across the Galaxy. With many systems willing to pay well for their own personal Jedi Guardians, it didn’t take long before the Order was reduced to a small following of loyal men and women, some of which stayed for loyalty to their Masters more than the Order itself.
In the midst of all this, a scientist named Quain Orn, working out of the Corporate Sector, claims to have developed a drug that can grant any individual access to the Force. Midi-chloric Gamaphil Koltosin Number 7, abbreviated as MGK-7 and known on the Black Market as ‘Magik,’ is new to the Market and advertised as a Synthetic Midi-chlorian substitute. Giving any sentient a temporary connection to the Force and enhancing the connection of those already sensitive, it won’t be long before the drug is mass produced and easily purchased all over the Galaxy.
With the Galactic Alliance on the verge, the Jedi Order all but extinct, and millions of untrained civilians toying with the Force, this time of Peace could be the most disastrous Era since the days of the Empire. Will anyone step forward like the heroes of the Rebellion, or will the Galaxy fall into peril once again?
Only you can decide.
