((OOC: this is the other half of the attack. Perhaps this will get things moving too.))
The attack had gone picture-perfect since the planet was devoid of life.
It was as simple as setting up an self-contained camp on the surface. Just like what Alpha Fleet dealt with, this was a day at the beach. Nobody knew that the Dark Lady was thinking, and some suspected that perhaps she had sent them on a fool's errand for kicks and giggles. However, there was a certain psychological imapct that couldn't be denied: the Sith had attacked this planet before.
The fact the planet had been stripped bare of living things was a moral booster to the Sith military as it bivouaced on the surface and began to transmit thier progress to Alpha Fleet.
The encrypted com network sounded like static for all the levels of "noise" used as a filter against any possible taps that would come in the future. Once a connection had been made, the signal was crystal clear. "Alpha Fleet, this is Bravo Fleet, come in."
There was another blast of static before a voice answered, "Bravo Fleet, we read you. Confirm that the mission was a success."
"Copy that, tell Com Ops that the mission was a success."
That meant that a signal would be shot back to Korriban. Nuts, bored, or otherwise, the Commander in Chief would hear about it and would apparently have been pleased at the success.
There was one thing that did make sense about the barren planet. It was closer to the core of the galaxy. Wherever Alpha Fleet had been sent to, they were likely edged closer to the core of the galaxy too. Then it hit them: this was provocation.
Depending on how sensitive the Republic military's listening devices were for new com signals, it meant that they could see possible action at any time. One commander on the ground had the good sense to order the camp bivouaced in a rocky outcropping and camouflaged.
