There was an incomming transmission that was signalled clearly in one of the myriad subterranean tunnels.
The tunnel was abuzz with activity as the message came in. Several glittering amber eyes stared on as the wasp-like figures came to a stop. There was a figure that was both haunting and beautiful that appeared wearing stately robes of burgundy. A pair of powerful black eyes peered out from the bluish haze of the holocom. The figure bowed politely and there was a warm smile forming in full on what appeared to be a strangely-featured human face.
"Who are you and what do you want?"
The human figure continued to smile and spoke softly, forcing the many of them to lean in and listen. "My name is Anakh Al-Shabbah, I am the chief diplomat for the Kingdom of Korriban. I reach out to you as our queen feels we have much in common."
That drew a scoff, "Really, and how does she figure that?"
There was still a patient smile, "We are both a desert people. Like Genosia, Korriban is a desert world. Like you, we are a strong and proud people with a great legacy," her voice lilted softly and drawing them in, "It is this theme in both our cultures that she feels we have a great deal in common. Getting to the point, we also have a common distrust of outsiders like the Galactic Republic."
Eyes widened and wings fluttered in the darkness. "You have our attention."
There was still that placid, patient smile and a graceful nod of the head. "Yes, though we have remained silent for so long, we fear that with the Republic now taking aggressive measures against planets such as Corellia, there is a reason for us to break our silence. We fear that if it is one planet that is forced to join, then who will be next? If it were your worls, surely you would retaliate, as would we."
"Yes, we would. Prisoners would be sent to the great Death Arena. It sounds almost like you're setting up an alliance."
Eyes closed and though there was a swallowed sigh. "That was not what I had initially had in mind. Instead, I was thinking more along the lines of a political coalition. This would not entirely obligate either government as it is our queen's wish to enter into the separatist sphere without immediatley engaging in alliance right away. We are not in a position to wage war at this time, however, we do have the ability to see to it that those in the colaition our queen desires are funded."
Wings fluttered as eyes glittered almost greedily at the thought of credits being sent to them. There was a moment of silence as many seemed to be thinking the same thing all at once. One didn't need the Force to sense the next question. "What's the catch?"
There was a pause. The burgundy veiled head tilted gracefully and a brow arced. "Catch, there is no catch. In all honnesty, what do you think we are, the Sith?"
There was a pause. They were stunned with the apparent joke and finally a chuckle turned to outbursts of laughter. A smile played on her face as she allowed herself to chuckle with them.
"Maddam, we have to salute you for that one. Few would dare make a joke of them."
That brow rose gracefully again, a devilish smile threatened to play on her face. "Well, then you know I'm not one of them. We are all too familiar with the old legends and rumors and we asure you, they are a terrible coincidence. It is very doubtful that they would so openly engage in politics."
They nodded. That was as valid a point as any. It was hard to say which was more enticing, another voice speaking against the Republic...or the possibility that there could be money to finally take up arms against the political moster.
